At Rice, our undergraduate students have the freedom to combine interests and create their own academic paths. Zack, a junior from Jones College, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree while also working two different research positions!

Jack (Baker ‘27) is a Rice architecture student who recently had the opportunity to explore how the city of Paris has helped shape modern art, film and architecture. Hosted by the Rice Global Paris Center (RGP), Jack spent an incredible month in Paris seeing famous sights and connecting their ties to art history.

At Rice Architecture, students are encouraged to both see and experience architecture's relevance in the world. Jack, a sophomore at Rice, recently spent a week studying abroad in Singapore through Rice Architecture's Global Workshops program. A new initiative that was launched this past summer, the program takes architecture students worldwide to conduct research or engage in creative projects.
