The Rice Admission team travels across the country and the globe each year to meet prospective students, families, and counselors. We host school visits, college fairs, and information sessions to showcase what makes Rice University distinctive. Connect with us on the road to learn more about how to apply, the affordability of a Rice education, and the student experience in Houston. We typically travel in the fall (August through November) and in the spring (April and May).

We partner with other top universities at these sessions to bring unique and collaborative programming directly to you.

LAUNCH

LAUNCH (Linking Access, Unity, Networking, Collaboration, and Higher Education) is a partnership between Cornell University, Emory University, Pomona College, Rice University, and Washington University in St. Louis. Since its founding, LAUNCH has worked to empower students and families with the knowledge, confidence, and support to pursue higher education—especially at selective colleges where access can feel out of reach. Traveling three times each year, the group partners with students, counselors, and community-based organizations to demystify the admissions process and ensure every student can see college as a place to belong, thrive, and shape their future.

STORY

STORY (Small Town Outreach, Recruitment, and Yield) is a collaborative travel partnership launched in 2023 to connect with students and counselors in small town and rural communities. Rice is proud to be one of the five founding members of this initiative, which has since grown to include 35+ leading universities such as Barnard, Brown, Caltech, Harvard, MIT, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Princeton, Tufts, UChicago, Vanderbilt, and Yale. Each spring and fall, the group travels to at least five small cities reachable by rural communities, working together to expand access, share resources, and ensure talented students everywhere can explore a wide range of college opportunities.
