EXPLORE LIFE AT RICE

What if you could get a first-hand
look at life at Rice

  • Want to see what it’s like to live off campus at Rice? Take a look at a day in the life of Andrew, Martel ‘24

  • As winter break approaches, there's a sense of gratitude in the air. Office of Admission interns Devika and Naman went around campus to ask students what they're thankful for this year. Watch our video to see the responses. We hope you have a restful break!

  • Former Secretaries of State James A. Baker, III and Hillary Rodham Clinton shared a moderated discussion over geopolitics, foreign affairs and public service at the Baker Institute’s 30th Anniversary Gala. The late former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger made an appearance via a pre-recorded video. Follow along as Office of Admission interns Naman and Devika recount their unforgettable night.

  • Eating on campus is an important part of the residential experience. Every student has access to all five serveries, and a wide variety of food options are available at each. We asked students to share what they love about the Rice serveries.

  • Meet Catarina Albuquerque, a midfielder on the Rice women’s soccer team! Originally from London, Cat was the first Owl in ten years to record an assist in her first collegiate game. She let us tag along to see what a typical day is like for a student-athlete.

  • Want to know what life as an international student at Rice is like? Hear from current international Owls about how they adjusted to a new country and how Rice helped them adapt to their new home.

  • Take a look at some of our most memorable moments from this past semester in our Fall 2022 recap video. We hope everybody stays safe and warm this winter, and on behalf of our Office of Admission, Happy Holidays!

  • As a leading research university with a distinctive commitment to undergraduate education, Rice University aspires to pathbreaking research, unsurpassed teaching, and contribution to the betterment of our world. It seeks to fulfill this mission by cultivating a diverse community of learning and discovery that produces leaders across the spectrum of human endeavor.

  • The food scene in Houston is simply unmatched. Ranked top 20 Best Campus Food by the Princeton Review, Rice's serveries are tough to beat too. This year, Rice's Housing and Dining department started a new paid internship program where current Rice students have the opportunity to work in their college serveries and serve their very own peers.

  • From family and friends to finally being able to spend time with one another, there's a lot to be thankful for this year. Before our students break for Thanksgiving, we went around campus and asked what they are thankful for.

  • There's millions of ways that Rice students spend their four-day weekend known as Midterm Break, and we got photos from one group's idea of fun: a road trip in Texas to Canyon Lake!

  • Meet Anthony, a student EMS provider and volunteer for REMS, Rice Emergency Medical Services, through some photos he captured (safely) as he made his way through a shift with REMS!
