What if you could get a first-hand
look at life at Rice

  • Rice recently welcomed admitted students and their families to campus for Owl Days 2024! An all-day program for admitted students, Owl Days is an opportunity for students to explore Rice University and its surrounding area. The Class of 2028 connected with fellow Owls, learned more about what the next four years may look like, and also experienced Rice's community, academics and culture of care.   • Naman and Devika visited the Rice University Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center to explore the diverse opportunities available for students. From workouts and group classes to outdoor activities and wellness programs, the Rice University Rec Center offers something for everyone. Join Naman and Devika as they guide us through the Rec, showcasing the wide range of activities and amenities it has to offer.

  • As winter break approaches, there's a sense of gratitude in the air. Office of Admission interns Devika and Naman went around campus to ask students what they're thankful for this year. Watch our video to see the responses. We hope you have a restful break!

  • Former Secretaries of State James A. Baker, III and Hillary Rodham Clinton shared a moderated discussion over geopolitics, foreign affairs and public service at the Baker Institute’s 30th Anniversary Gala. The late former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger made an appearance via a pre-recorded video. Follow along as Office of Admission interns Naman and Devika recount their unforgettable night.

     

  • Eating on campus is an important part of the residential experience. Every student has access to all five serveries, and a wide variety of food options are available at each. We asked students to share what they love about the Rice serveries.

  • Meet Catarina Albuquerque, a midfielder on the Rice women’s soccer team! Originally from London, Cat was the first Owl in ten years to record an assist in her first collegiate game. She let us tag along to see what a typical day is like for a student-athlete.

This year, Rice's Housing and Dining department started a new paid internship program where current Rice students have the opportunity to work in their college serveries and serve their very own peers.

  • From family and friends to finally being able to spend time with one another, there's a lot to be thankful for this year. Before our students break for Thanksgiving, we went around campus and asked what they are thankful for.
